'Heaven', come paradiso e 'Noise' come rumore.. il neologismo inglese Heavenoise esprime in una parola il tipo di sound proposto dal gruppo.
Heaven, come suoni eterei, atmosfere oniriche, talvolta malinconiche, liriche romantiche; Noise come rumore, psichedelica, effetti di disturbo, confusione. Gli Heavenoise si sono formati nel 2004, ma possiamo dire che le basi del progetto furono già poste nel lontano 1994, quando Paul (alias Paolo Mariani) e Lele (alias Gabriele Guerini Rocco) suonavano in un gruppo chiamato The Cage, specializzato in cover dei Cure. Dopo lo scioglimento della band, Paul e Lele hanno dato inizio al progetto Heavenoise, ispirandosi al sound di band come Cure, Placebo, Slowdive. Nel marzo di quest’anno la band è arrivata a incidere il primo album 'The Last Day Before The Sun', registrato presso Arecibo Studio con la preziosa collaborazione tecnica e artistica di Giorgio Andreoli (Anna Oxa, Arecibo). Il cd è dedicato a Michael Concato, nipote di Paul e scomparso alla tenera età di 17 anni, il 23 marzo 2005, per una grave malattia. Il duo è affiancato da Max Somaruga alle batterie (selezioni Sanremo giovani 1998 con i Dilitium).

'Heaven' and 'Noise': the neologism Heavenoise perfectly expresses the sound of the band. Heavenoise formed in 2004, but the foundations of the project were laid many years before. Paul (alias Paolo Mariani) and Lele (alias Gabriele Guerini Rocco) first met in 1994, when they set up a band called The Cage, performing live covers of The Cure. After The Cage broke up, Paul and Lele began the Heavenoise project, composing new original songs, in a home-made studio. In March 2006 they recorded their first album, 'The Last Day Before The Sun', dedicated to Paul's nephew, Micheal Concato, affected by cancer and who died at the age of 17, on March 23 th 2005. It's a very intimate album, which ideally collects the emotions of the last 2 years. Heavenoise were looking for the sound we loved (the atmosphere that permeates albums such The Cure's Disintegration or the Slowdive's Just For A Day, adding to this some guitar riffs in a Placebo-like style), and they found it. Drummer Max Somaruga (Dilitium, "Sanremo giovani" 1998) joined Heavenoise for the live session .
