Biografia
Il gruppo è nato
a Torino, nel settembre del 1997 con il nome di Ephel
Dùath.
La prima formazione comprendeva: voce - chitarre - basso
- violino - flauti - piano - tastiere e batteria; in
seguito gli ultimi tre elementi sono stati sostituiti
da drum machine e da alcuni effetti preregistrati con
tecnologia digitale.
Nel Marzo del '98 viene inciso il primo demo CD autoprodotto,
di quattro brani, registrato presso Marco Giaccaria,
dal titolo "Demo 00"; al progetto hanno partecipato
altri musicisti quali: Marco Giaccaria (viola), Gabriele
e Lorenzo Montanaro (violoncelli) e Fabrizio Saraco
(batteria).
Tra il '98 e il '02 vengono intraprese diverse esperienze
dal vivo, sia in Italia che all'estero… (Supermarket,
C.S.A. Torino; "Dark Angels Night Festival"
organizzato da "L' Erba Della Strega" Asti;
KST Club Belgrade etc…).
Dal febbraio del '01 il gruppo ha cambiato il proprio
nome in The Head Stops e ha dato vita ad un secondo
demo CD autoprodotto, di cinque brani, dal titolo "Overjoyed
Ne'er-Do-Well".
Quest'ultimo progetto ha ottenuto diverse recensioni
positive su riviste di settore e non e su numerose webzines
italiane e straniere… Alcuni brani di "Overjoyed…"
sono stati inseriti in diverse Compilations tra cui:
"Phantom Moon Vol.1" allegata alla fanzine
"Phantom Moon" n°4 e "Nuova Era Volgare
1.0" allegata alla rivista "Flashnoise Art"
n°4…
I brani dei T.H.S. sono trasmessi da diverse emittenti
radio tra cui: "Radio R.T.P." e "Radio
Flash" Torino, "Radio Onde Furlane" Udine,
"Radio Black Planet" Francia, "Radio
Politika" Jugoslavia…
Attualmente i T.H.S. sono in cerca di un' etichetta
discografica che sia interessata a produrre un loro
lavoro…
E' prevista tra poco tempo l'uscita di un nuovo album…
La linea musicale è caratterizzata da diverse
influenze, a partire dalla musica classica alla new
wave, al dark alla musica elettronica e altro.
I testi, al di là di alcune eccezioni, sono molto
introspettivi, trattano di sentimenti, stati d'animo
e pensieri..

Biography
The band was born in Turin on September
1997 under the name of Ephel Dùath.
The first band line up was composed by: voice, guitars,
bass, violin, flutes, piano, keyboards and drums.
In a later moment piano, keybords and drums have been
substituted by drum machine and digital electronic effects.
On March 98, the they recorded their first demo Cd with
4 tracks called “DEMO OO”, which was an
artwork by Franco Giaccaria (viola) Gabriele and Lorenzo
Montanaro (violoncellos) and Fabrizio Saracco (drums)
Between 1998 and 2002, they performed several live shows
both in Italy and abroad (some exaples: Supermarket,
CSA (Turin), Dark Angels Night Festival (organized by “Erba della strega”- Asti) KST Club (Belgrade))
Since February 2001, they have turned their name in
The Head Stops and with this name, have released a second
demo CD: “Overjoyed Ne’er-Do-Well” composed by 5 new tracks that have has been very appreciated
by the magazine and webzine reviews and have been broadcasted
by different radios (RTP radio from Turin, Onde Furlane
Radio from Udine, Black Planet Radio from France, Radio
Polika from Yugoslavia).
Some tracks from “Overjoyed Ne’er-Do-Well”
are also available in the following compilations: “Phantom
Moon Vol. 1 (by Phantom Moon Magazine) “Nuova
Era Volgare 1.0 compilation” (by Flashnoise magazine)
Presently THS are looking for a label available to produce
their music and they are working at their 3rd demo cd.

Musical influences:
Classical music, new wave, dark, electro.
Their lyrics are generally very introspective and focussed
on feeling, mood and though..
