Biografia
I Gothica sono Alessandra
Santovito (voce, tastiere) e Roberto Del Vecchio (programming,
tastiere, voce). Le musiche sono composte da Roberto
Del Vecchio e Alessandra Santovito ed eseguite con la
collaborazione di alcuni musicisti come: Flavia Prosperi
(flauto traverso), Claudio Di Bucchianico (oboe), Domenico
Mancini (violino), Alberto Biondi (percussioni). I testi
sono poesie scritte da Alessandra Santovito, eccetto
alcune poesie di Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Gustavo Adolfo
Bécquer, Delgado José Espronceda, Pedro
Calderón de la Barca, Christina Georgina Rossetti.
Il progetto è nato verso la fine del 1994 e nel
settembre del 1995, i Gothica hanno registrato il primo
demo tape omonimo distribuito dalla Beyond…Prod.
Nel novembre del 1996, hanno registrato "Nothingmess",
un nuovo brano incluso nella compilation CD "Screms
From Italy" vol. 3 della Dawn Of Sadness. Nel giugno
del 1998, i Gothica hanno realizzato il secondo demo
tape intitolato "Proserpina" (demo del mese
su Metal Hammer Nr. 11 / Novembre 1998). Grazie a questo
demo, hanno firmato il contratto con l'etichetta svedese
Cold Meat Industry. Nell'ottobre del 2000, è
uscito il loro primo CD "Night Thoughts" per
la Cruel Moon/Cold Meat Industry. Nel febbraio del 2003
esce, sempre per la Cruel Moon, il secondo CD intitolato
"The Cliff of Suicide" che contiene anche
il Video Clip "The Cliff of Suicide (Electro Version)".

Biography
Gothica are Roberto
Del Vecchio (programming, keyboards, voice) and Alessandra
Santovito (voice, keyboards). All the music has been
composed by Alessandra Santovito and Roberto Del Vecchio
and played with the collaboration of some musicians
like Flavia Prosperi (flute), Claudio Di Bucchianico
(oboe), Domenico Mancini (violin), Alberto Biondi (percussions).
The lyrics are poems written by Alessandra Santovito
but there are also poems by Dante Gabriel Rossetti,
Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Delgado José Espronceda,
Pedro Calderón de la Barca, Christina Georgina
Rossetti. Gothica formed toward the end of 1994 and
in September 1995, Gothica recorded their debut demo
tape "Gothica" distributed Beyond…Prod.
In November 1996, the band recorded a new song entitled
"Nothingness" which was included in the CD
compilation "Screams From Italy" vol. 3 by
Dawn Of Sadness. In June 1998, Gothica realized their
second demo tape entitled "Proserpina" (demo
of the month - METAL HAMMER Nr. 11 / November 1998).
Thanks to this demo, Gothica signed the contract with
the Swedish Cold Meat Industry label. In October 2000,
Gothica's first CD entitled "Night Thoughts"
came out for Cruel Moon/Cold Meat Industry and have
sold more than 4000 copies. In February 2003, their
second CD entitled "The Cliff of Suicide" came out again for Cruel Moon and also contains their
first video clip.
