Biografia
Il progetto Bahntier e' stato fondato
alla fine del 1999 da Stefano Rossello inizialmente
come gruppo ambiet-sperimentale e poi mutandosi sempre
piu' verso sonorita' aggressive e percussive. Nell'estate
del 2000 Stefano registra vari tape e CD-R che colpiscono
l'etichetta E.N.D.E. Radioluxor, intanto ai vari pezzi
viene aggiunta la voce e registrato un primo demo che
nel 2001 l'etichetta decide di produrre. Viene contattato
Angelo Bergamini per la produzione ma impegnato con
la regitrazione del nuovo disco. Intanto Bahntier si
esibiscono dal vivo proponendo performance "forti" utilizzando vari espedienti tra cui proiezioni effetti
luce, controfigure. Il nucleo del gruppo per le performance
live cosi' si allarga: Stefano Rossello voce, synths,
Christian Battiferro alla batteria-percusioni, MM ai
campionamenti e Andrea Graziosi per le proiezioni ed
effetti luce nei concerti.
Nell'aprile del 2002 Stefano Rossello tramite l'etichetta
entra in cottatto con Simon Balestrazzi, mente dello
storico progetto T.A.C. ed ex componente dei Kirlian
Camera, che decide di occuparsi della produzione artistica
del disco; viene cosi' finito di registrare al NeuroHabitat
di Cagliari (nuovo studio di Balestrazzi dove produrra
il suo nuovo disco dei T.A.C. anche quello dei TH26).
In Maggio Bahntier suonano a Livorno con i Kebabtraume
ed luglio si esibiscono al Metamatik Festival con Suicide
Commando, Pal, VNV Nation.
Prima dell'uscita del disco Stefano decide di produrre
e stampare un CD-r limitato dal Titolo "Subspecis" che contiene dei pezzi inediti e delle versioni demo
del Disco ed una Fanzine di subcultura e ricerca dal
titolo AMOEBA . Finalmente con l'anno nuovo, dopo essere
stato completato l'artwork e mastering, il disco ufficiale dal Titolo "Randome",
esce per KarnaK electro/industrial sublabel di E.N.D.E.
"Randome" contiene 13 traccie che vanno da
potenti sonorità powernoise a sonorità
tipicamente industriali con un cantato molto agressivo
che ricorda molto i Skinny Puppy in versione moderna.
Sicuramente BAHNTIER è una rivelazione in Italia;
primo perchè alcune sonorità tipiche di
etichette come ant-zen e hands non si erano ancora sentite
in bands italiane, secondo negli arangiamenti e nelle
ambientazioni sonore si riscontra una certa personalità
e originalità.

Biography
The Bahntier project has been founded
by Stefano Rosello in the year 1999. In the beginning,
it was an ambient –experimental band. Later the
band became more percussive and aggressive. In the summer
of 2000 Stefano recorded several tapes and CD-r with
instrumental tracks and sent them to E.N.D.E Radioluxor
Label, which received them positively. During this period,
Stefano started to add voice to his songs and released
his first demo Cd. In 2001 E.N.D.E decided to produce
his artwork, and they asked Angelo Bergamini (Kirlian
Camera) a support for the production. Unfortunately
he had to reject being very absorbed by his new album.
In the meanwhile, Bahntier achieved many live shows
enriched by projections, light effects and other gears.
The live band line up was composed by: Stefano Rossello
(voice and synths), Christian Battiferro (drums), MM
(for the samplings) and Andrea Graziosi (projections
and light effects).
On April 2002 E.N.D.E put Stefano Rosello through Simon
Balestrazzi (who was the "mind" in T.A.C.
and had also played for Kirlian Camera). Simon decided
to manage the album artistic production and they recorded
the cd at Simon's studio in Cagliari (NeuroHabitat ).
On may, Bahntier in Livorno with the band Kebabtraume
and the following July at the Metamatik Festival with
acts like Suicide Commando, Pal, VNV Nation.
Before the Debut-album issue, Stefano produced a limited
version called “Subspecis” including new
tracks demo versions and a copy of AMOEBA (underground
fanzine).
Eventually with the 2003 incoming, they released their
first album called “Random”(produced by
KarnaK electro/industrial a E.N.D.E sub-label). Its
13 tracks swing from powernoise to industrial and are
characterized by a modern version of Skinny Puppy-like
voice, ant-zen sounds and very customized tunes, which
make of Bahntier an outsider band of the underground
Italian scenario.
