Bene Criz (Cristiano Mozzati) iniziamo questa chiaccherata parlando del nuovo album "Comalies" ..

-|-|-» LC: "Comalies" è sicuramente l'album più curato che abbiamo mai realizzato nella nostra carriera, la produzione è stata affidata a Waldemar Sorychta con cui ci siamo trovati benissimo e grazie a lui abbiamo avuto un'ottima produzione ed una cura perfetta di ogni piccolo arrangiamento.

Qual'e' il pezzo di "Comalies" che piu' ti soddisfa ?

-|-|-» LC: Senza dubbio "Tight Rope" è il brano che preferisco, anche se non saprei davvero scegliere perché ogni brano rappresenta qualcosa di diverso per me. I nuovi brani sono molto più "accessibili" rispetto ai vecchi senza mai risultare commerciali e questo è merito di Marco ( bassista) il nostro principale compositore..

Essendo stati considerati da sempre una band metal vi ha sorpreso l'enorme successo avuto nell'audience gothic ?

-|-|-» LC: Se penso a tutto il lavoro che c'è stato in tutti questi anni per rendere il nostro stile una sintesi di metal, rock e gothic non mi sorprendo più di tanto. Credo che nessun gruppo si debba considerare "arrivato", perchè c'è sempre qualcosa che si può migliorare o affinare. Il trucco sta nel dare il meglio di sè stessi nel momento della registrazione. "Comalies" rappresenta i Lacuna Coil del 2002, abbiamo dato quello che potevamo dare, la nostra passione per la musica, il nostro cuore, il nostro estro compositivo, senza falsare nulla o incidere ciò che non ci piaceva. Lo so, è una frase tipica per ogni musicista al nuovo album ma "Comalies" è il nostro album più maturo fin ora, ci sentiamo davvero più grandi professionalmente.

Fino ad ora la canzone "Senza Fine" resta l'unico brano cantato interamente in italiano, avete intenzione di farne altri o addirittura un intero cd ?

-|-|-» LC: Non credo che faremo mai un album intero in italiano anche perché da sempre abbiamo preferito usare una lingua alla più portata del pubblico europeo come l'inglese, comunque nell'ultimo lavoro la title track è mezza in italiano e mezza in inglese.

Ho notato con piacere che nell'ultimo tour con i Sentenced ed i Blackshine, nelle date italiane, avete ricoperto voi il ruolo di headliner.. e' stata una cosa che e' accaduta solo in Italia o anche in Europa ?

-|-|-» LC: No, non è accaduto solo nelle date Italiane ma in molte altre come quella inglese per esempio.
Diciamo che ci siamo alternati rispetto al paese ed all'audiuence che incontravamo, è stata una decisione presa di comune accordo con il managment delle due bands

Ci sono stati dei momenti difficili nella tua carriera di musicista ? Quali sono le esperienze musicali passate che piu' ti hanno soddisfatto...

-|-|-» LC: Sicuramente ci sono stati dei periodi duri in cui tutto sembrava molto difficile ma alla fine con l'impegno e la volontà sono riuscito a venirne a capo. Delle mie passate esperienze musicali quella che mi ha aiutato a crescere come musicista è stato l' aver suonato con i Time Machine

Quali sono i progetti per i prossimi mesi ?

-|-|-» LC: Partiremo a breve per un tour in America con In Flames e Dark Tranquillity, per poi ritornare a suonare in Europa per un tour di circa un mese, di nuovo con i Sentenced;
quella del tour americano è una tappa importante anche per far conoscere meglio la nostra musica oltreoceano, ci piacerebbe molto sunonare nel Sud d'Italia dove abbiamo un ottimo seguito e non siamo mai riusciti a suonare, anzi colgo l'occasione per ringraziare tutti i fan del sud che ci supportano

So Criz (Cristiano Mozzati), let's start this talk speaking about the new album "Comalies" ..

-|-|-» LC: "Comalies" is surely the most accurate album that we have never done in our career, the production was entrusted to Waldemar Sorychta, we get on fine with him and thanks to him we had a great production and a perfect care for every little setting

What song of "Comalies" satisfies you more?

-|-|-» LC: "Tight rope" without any doubt is the song I prefer, even if I don't know exactly what to choose because every song represents something different for me. New songs are more comprehensible compared to the old one without never being commercial and this belonging to Marco (bass player), our most important writer.

Were you surprised for the great success you had in gothic audience, considering the fact that you were always been considered a metal band?

-|-|-» LC: If I think about all the work we had to do in the last years to make our sound a sinthesis of metal, rock and gothic, I'm not so surprised. I think that a group doesn't have to consider itself "arrived", because there's always something to improve or refine. The trick is to always give the best in registration's moment. "Comalies" represents Lacuna Coil in 2002, we gave what we can, our passion for music, our heart, our musical inspiration, without altering anything or recording what we didn't like. I know, it's a typical phrase for every musician, but "Comalies" it's our most grown-up album, we feel bigger professionaly speaking.

Since now, "Senza fine" is the only song sang totally in italian, do you think you will make others or even a full cd ?

-|-|-» LC: I don't think that we'll ever make a cd all in italian because we always preferred using a language more suitable for european public as English, anyway in the last work the title track is half in italian half in english

I noticed with pleasure that in the last tour with Sentenced and Blackshine, in the italian dates, you were the headliners… this thing happened only in Italy or also in Europe?

-|-|-» LC: No, it didn't happen only in the Italian dates but also in many others as the English one for example. We can say that we alternate ourselves concearning the country and the audience we met, it was a decision taken by common consent with management of the 2 bands.

Did you have any difficult moment in your musician's carreer? What musical experiences of the past satisfied you most...

-|-|-» LC: Surely there have been hard moments during which everything felt so difficult, but in the end with care and determination I was able to make head of it. From my musical experiences of the past the one that helped me most to grow as a musician was the one with Time Machine

What are the projects for the next months ?

-|-|-» LC: We'll start a tour in America with In Flames and Dark Tranquility, than we'll return to play in Europe for a one month tour with Sentenced again; the american tour stage is an important one also to make our music known better beyond Ocean, we'd like to play in South Italy were we have a good public and we weren't ever able to play there, so I take the occasion to thank all the fans from South that support us.
