Un caloroso benvenuto all'amico Stanislav del progetto russo Stillife. E' la prima volta che vieni intervistato da una webzine italiana? Chi è M.S., l'altra metà degli Stillife?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Ciao Massimo. Auguri ai lettori di Dside. Finalmente avremo modo di conversare. Ebbene sì, questa è la prima volta che rilasciamo un'intervista per una webzine italiana. Il vostro paese ha presentato molti grandi esempi che ci hanno aiutato ad ampliare la nostra percezione musicale dark nel processo ed all'interno del nostro progetto di formazione nei tardi anni'90. Sono in grado di citare bands come Ataraxia, Monumentum, Camerata Mediolanense, Kirlian Camera ed altri. Mi fa piacere che d'ora in poi il nostro progetto sarà presentato a una vasta gamma di lettori, italiani ed europei. Parlando delle origini degli Stillife , ci siamo formati alla fine del Dicembre 1998 insieme con M.S. ,un mio vecchio amico . Una serie di circostanze ci hanno costretti a condividere insieme, esprimere e combinare le negatività...le emozioni depresse in forme musicali, così da darci reciproco conforto. Parlando di nuovo di M.S. e dei primi giorni della biografia degli Stillife, in passato egli ha contribuito alla maggior parte della stesura lirica così come nelle strutture ritmiche. Più tardi ciò divenne la sua specialità che crebbe sensibilmente e fu nel secondo album che dimostrò il suo talento nel modo più convincente. Voglio inoltre ricordare che oltre a Stan_I. e M.S. al progetto Stillife hanno collaborato altre persone, soprattutto i nostri amici che ci hanno sostenuto e concesso le loro idee aiutandoci attraverso tutti questi lunghi anni.

Stan, cosa significa essere una band alternativa all'interno dei confini russi? A quale target di pubblico vi rivolgete particolarmente?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Esistiamo per la semplice ragione che creiamo musica e la musica stessa non conosce confini. Tuttavia apparteniamo territorialmente alla Russia, un grande paese con un'importante storia ed un grande patrimonio culturale. Ma noi non apparteniamo a nessuna scena locale, perchè seguiamo una nostra strada personale. Comunichiamo con le mentalità di persone provenienti da luoghi diversi ed i nostri ascoltatori hanno le stesse nostre opinioni riguardo la vita. Non importa dove essi vivono, essi sono accanto a noi: e questa è la magia della musica.

Dal vostro album debutto del 2000 "Raining December" ad oggi, giudicate il vostro schema compositivo più orientato verso la musicalità o verso i contenuti delle liriche?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Intendi forse che cos'ha la priorità per noi? La musica o testi? Sì... fin dall'inizio ho avuto molti progetti riguardo le liriche componendo alcuni "schizzi". Mi riferisco a canzoni come "Raining Dicember" o " Nur Das Schweigen ". Durante la realizzazione del nostro debut album gli ho semplicemente adattati alle forme musicali, quelle che formano a loro volta le canzoni. Non è così per tutti i brani, ma per molti di essi sì. Fino a quando nell'ultimo album "Destiny" la situazione è cambiata completamente. Di solito creiamo la canzone come fosse un progetto per poi ricevere le emozioni direttamente dalla musica ed in in seguito aspettare che il testo scaturisca dalla nostra mente. Tuttavia vi sono ancora alcune canzoni ispirate dalla lirica da rime già esistenti: per esempio il titolo del brano "Destiny". Quindi non vi è una risposta semplice. Tutto è importante quando si crea armonia.

La scarsa reperibilità dei vostri cd al di fuori del vostro paese attraverso la label Irond Ltd, vi ha in qualche modo limitati oppure vi ha stimolato a creare un sound vicino alle sonorità europee?

-|-|-» Stanislav: In realtà non esiste alcun collegamento evidente tra la distribuzione dei nostri cd e il nostro suono. Siamo lieti del lavoro svolto dalla nostra etichetta. Essa ha una buona promozione e distribuzione all'interno della Russia ed i paesi C.I.S. e questo è il limite della sua rete di distribuzione. Ma per quanto ne so vi sono labels che vendono le nostre realizzazioni come import. Ad esempio recentemente ho visto "Destiny" nel catalogo della A Different Drum . Noi non siamo un grande gruppo che vive solo sui profitti delle loro produzioni, ma la situazione è ok per noi.

In passato avete suonato a Mosca assieme ai Diary of Dreams. Quali ricordi hai di quel concerto? Hai ancora contatti con Adrian?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Rispetto lo status che hanno i Diary of Dreams sulla scena musicale mondiale, ma non mi interessa la loro musica per il solo motivo che non mi piace. Per cui non ho alcun particolare ricordo riguardo quell'evento. Parlando di altri concerti mi ricordo ancora stupendamente il nostro debutto con gli Endraum nel 2001. E 'stata una pietra miliare per noi e questo incontro ha dato poi via ad un lungo giro di collaborazioni e joint release.

Nel 2003 siete stati definiti dalla critica come "la miglior band russa dell'anno" ed inoltre, "la miglior band russa di tutti i tempi". Obiettivamente, Stan, dopo cinque anni ritieni questa definizione ancora valida? Sono emersi nel frattempo altri artisti russi con i quali siete in "competizione"?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Non è l'artista a stimare la propria arte. Siamo stati tra i primi quì ed abbiamo avuto un buon inizio. Forse allora c'erano poche bands in circolazione e in tal modo tutti coloro che si sono dedicati alla cultura dark hanno ascoltato la nostra musica più attentamente . Ora i tempi sono cambiati. Un'intera generazione di nuove bands varca i confini . Ma noi esistiamo ancora. Non è concorrenza, è un modo di vivere.

La label argentina Twilight Records ha licenziato nel 2007 un doppio cd in edizione particolare del vostro album "Remembrance & Memories". Quale risposta ha avuto dal pubblico? Siete riusciti a raggiungere con la vostra musica un'altra parte del pianeta?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Sono grato a Gabriel ed alla Twilight Records per averci dato l'opportunità di essere presentati ad un'altra parte del mondo. Mi auguro che questo release ci aiuterà a raggiungere e farci apprezzare dal pubblico sudamericano più vicino alla nostra creatività. Ho già avuto alcune buone risposte da parte di alcune persone lì. Ma, purtroppo, oggi il cd è diventato un modo arcaico di promozione. Siamo anche in Internet dal 1997, abbiamo creato un buon sito web. Siamo presenti inoltre su tutti i principali account tra cui MySpace e Last.fm : credo inoltre che i download annientino il grande lavoro concettuale che l'artista trasferisce nella sua creazione. Mi rammarico di ciò, perchè l'album deve essere percepito così com'è. Ed io continuo a sognare una versione su vinile di "Destiny". Si adatta perfettamente al concetto di ciò che l'album suona. Forse un giorno questa versione sarà possibile, almeno lo spero.

Anno 2008, è il turno del vostro prossimo cd "Destiny". Ho letto cose interessanti riguardo collaborazioni illustri come con In my Rosary, Derriere le Miroir, Mary's Comic...vuoi parlarci meglio di questo vostro album, Stan?

-|-|-» Stanislav: L'unica persona che sta dietro tutti i progetti di cui sopra è Ralf Jesek - un veterano della scena dark tedesca - , un perfetto musicista e un grande uomo. Davvero. La prima volta che ho avuto contatti con lui, più di dodici anni fa, ero affascinato dalla musica dei In My Rosariy. Molti anni sono passati da allora, ma abbiamo sempre mantenuto dei buoni rapporti. Ho avuto il coraggio di chiedere Ralf di lavorare sul nostro nuovo album "Destiny" dopo il suo splendido remix di "Remember me", canzone presente sul nostro scorso album "Memories". Egli ha cortesemente accettato ed ora abbiamo tra le mani una vera e propria opera d'arte. Ha realizzato un ottimo mixaggio nella masterizzazione di "Destiny", ci ha aiutato anche con alcune parti strumentali e nei backing vocals. Questo album significa molto per noi. Musicalmente ci riporta ai tempi di quando abbiamo iniziato ad avere un vivo interesse per la musica Goth. Tutto ciò sa un pò di vecchia moda rispetto ai contenuti degli albums precedenti. Insieme a tastiere e samples abbiamo utilizzato molti live instruments e credo che siamo riusciti ad ottenere il vero suono dei primi anni Novanta del secolo scorso. Con "Destiny" stiamo voltando una nuova pagina della nostra storia, entrando in una nuova epoca nella quale spero non ci siano più dolori.

Quanti brani di punta avete introdotto in "Destiny"? Quali sono i loro titoli?

-|-|-» Stanislav: ci sono dieci tracce nella title track "regolare" di "Destiny":
1. “Relief”: song d'apertura mid tempo suonata con pianoforte a coda, con una forte linea di basso e tromba solista.
2. “Hideaway” : una canzone che ci dice che il vero rifugio è una persona che ti conforta...
3. “Destiny” : traccia omonima all'album: significa che non vi è alcuna fuga dal proprio destino.
4. “Living For You” : questa è una delle probabili "hit". Parla riguardo la fine della solitudine.
5. “Eternity Awaits": è un classico "gotico" circa la perdita di speranza e di amore.
6. “Never Crossing Lines”: le linee della vita di due persone che non si incontreranno mai.
7. “To Live Again” : questa è una song "profetica" che tratta della nostra generazione.
8. “Dein Märchen” : ricominciare quando tutto è perso.
9. “Broken Time Machines”: parla della nostra memoria che non può portarci fisicamente indietro nel tempo.
10. “Ever After”: un addio al passato.
Oltre a questa versione stiamo ultimando uno speciale digibook di "Destiny", che avrà un art-work potenziato ed una sezione multimediale di 3 bonus

11. “V tvoih shelkah” (“In Your Silk...”): nuovo romanticismo da Olga Likhobabina-Zimmermann, che è un elemento che ha collaborato con noi nel precedente album "Memories".

13. “Dozhdlivyi dekabr” (“Raining December”): versione neoclassica di un brano tratto dal nostro debut album.

La musica underground è spesso realizzata con pochi mezzi e tanto sacrificio investendo anche del denaro. Riuscite a compensare con le vendite dei cd gli investimenti che avete fatto?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Preferisco non parlare del lato finanziario del processo di creazione della musica, perché riguarda solo la band e la sua label. Posso solo dire che abbiamo guadagnato tanto quanto abbiamo investito.

Personalmente adoro il vostro singolo del 2002 "Only Silence" che trovo ancora oggi stupendo e adatto a far comprendere l'anima ed il suono Stillife. Come avete creato questa canzone? Mariam Khatlamajian collabora ancora con voi in qualità di violinista?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Ti ringrazio per le belle parole riguardo "Only Silence". Questo album è molto importante per noi, perche 'credo che sia dedicato a quelli che abbiamo perso e che restano sempre vivi nella nostra memoria. Parlando di Mariam direi che va tutto bene. Collabora ancora con noi e si può sentire il suo gioco di viola in "Destiny". In realtà il suo principale compito è quello di suonare alla Rostov Philharmonic Orchestra che è davvero adatta a lei. Essi sono spesso in giro in tutto il mondo. Quindi se sentite che sono nella vostra zona non perdete l'occasione per andarli ad ascoltare dal vivo. Non ve ne pentirete.

A tuo parere, Stan, è preferibile una carriera redditizia ma breve oppure una carriera modesta economicamente ma soddisfacente dal punto di vista musicale?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Parlando come Stillife non abbiamo mai pensato alla nostra musica come strumento per ottenere cospicui guadagni, perche noi abbiamo posti di lavoro regolari e siamo soddisfatti della nostra attuale situazione . Abbiamo firmato per una nota etichetta indipendente che ci permette di creare liberamente la nostra musica che non può essere vincolata da alcuna pressione finanziaria nè nel modo con cui deve uscire. Perciò preferisco rimanere libero.

Ascoltate spesso gruppi d'avanguardia oppure preferite quelli più datati?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Io preferisco "Avantgarde" inteso come record label italiana, ma non come stile musicale. E 'uno scherzo, ovviamente! Sono un appassionato di musica e fin dalla prima infanzia. Ciò vale anche per gli altri membri degli Stillife. Ho anche accettato una sfida per suonare in altri vari stili musicali che vanno dall'extreme Death al black Metal al Synthpop. Ho sempre cercato di ampliare gli orizzonti della mia percezione musicale. Purtroppo non riesco a captare fisicamente tutte le ulteriori attuali influenze e ciò a volte mi fa sembrare insensibile ed obsoleto, concentrandomi esclusivamente sulle bands, la musica e gli stili che preferisco. Tuttavia la mia ricerca per una perfetta dimensione musicale non è finita.

Avete mai scritto canzoni a sfondo politico..

-|-|-» Stanislav: Mai. Non siamo interessati a qualsiasi forma o strumento di controllo sociale, né in politica né per quanto concerne la religione. Dubito che tali soggetti potranno mai apparire nel testo degli Stillife.

Come vivete i vostri concerti? Essi sono un modo per esprimervi in tutto il vostro potenziale oppure sono un test per capire il livello di interesse del vostro pubblico?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Al momento non suoniamo dal vivo da più di quattro anni e lentamente ci siamo trasformati in uno studio project. Così come è stato ai tempi in cui abbiamo iniziato. Ma i ricordi del nostri trascorsi concerti mi fanno tremare di gioia e mi danno la speranza che un giorno saremo ancora in grado di suonare di nuovo sul palco. Posso dire che esibirsi dal vivo è un potente strumento di scambio di energia tra l'artista e il pubblico. Ecco perché ciò ti dona sempre una sensazione di purificazione e di dolce senso di esaustità. E'una specie di dipendenza.

Gioia, tristezza...con quale stato d'animo create le cose migliori? Perchè?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Beh ... penso che il momento della creazione provenga dall'alto. Puoi semplicemente passeggiare per un parco abbandonato oppure essere seduto in camera quando qualcosa ti colpisce e vuoi iniziare a scriverla in una canzone o un tema o sottoforma del testo grezzo di un progetto. Succede soprattutto di notte, ma può accadere alla luce del giorno, in una strada affollata. Naturalmente esiste sempre un particolare stato emotivo come profondo movente. Può essere qualcosa accaduto nella nostra precedente esperienza, prima di essa oppure nella proiezione dei nostri pensieri verso il futuro. Può essere qualsiasi cosa, ma sarebbe nulla senza essere concretizzata.

Siete ottimisti o pessimisti riguardo il futuro della musica underground?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Cerco di non pensarci. Oggi tutto cambia molto velocemente e non posso prevedere nulla di certo. Spero solo che esso rimanga diverso e senza "cucitura", dando al mondo sempre nuovi e promettenti risultati.

Quale compromesso musicale non riuscireste mai ad accettare?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Non essere più noi stessi, l'ingordigia ed a slealtà.

Vi facciamo tanti auguri per il nuovo "Destiny" che speriamo di potere ascoltare. Avrà questo cd una distribuzione limitata alla Federazione Russa oppure potremo acquistarlo regolarmente anche nei nostri negozi europei?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Il nostro nuovo album sarà distribuito ancora nei paesi C.I.S. e della Russia. Interessa sia le edizioni normali che quelle limitate. Ma spero che il pubblico europeo trovi il modo di procurarlo, perchè la musica non può essere relegata ad un solo range! Comunque potete sempre mettervi in contatto con la band e possiamo lavoraraci assieme.

A warm welcome from Dside to the Russian friend Stanislav of the project called Stillife. Is this the first time that you are interviewed by an Italian webzine? Who's M.S., the other "half" of the Stillife?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Hello Massimo. Greetings to the Dside readers. At last we’ll have our conversation and yes, this is the first time I do the interview for an Italian magazine. Your country presented many great acts which helped us to extend our dark musical perceptions in the process of our project’s formation in the late 90s. I can count such bands as Ataraxia, Monumentum, Camerata Mediolanense, Kirlian Camera and others. I’m glad that from now on our project will be presented to a wide variety of Italian and European readers. Speaking of Stillife’s origin, we formed the project in late December 1998 together with M.S , an old friend of mine. The circumstances forced us to bring ourselves together to expel the burden of negative and depressive emotions into musical forms to get relief for ourselves. Speaking back of M.S. and the early days of Stillife biography. Back then he did mostly lyrical contributions as well as rhythm structures. Later on his skills became very high and since the second album he has opened his talents in the most sufficient way. Also I have to mention that besides Stan_I. and M.S. the project Stillife is a collaboration of other people, our friends mostly, which have supported us and have been granting us some of their ideas through all these long years.

Stan, what it means to be an alternative band within Russian borders? To which target of audiences particularly you contact?

-|-|-» Stanislav: We exist for the reason of music creation and the music itself knows no borders. However territorially we belong to Russia, the great country with great history and cultural heritage. But we don’t belong to any local scene, ‘cause we make it our own way. We communicate with many like-minded persons, from different places. Our listeners have the same views on life as we do. No matter where they are living, they are beside us, and that is the magic of music.

From your 2000 debut album "Raining December" to now, do you judge your compositional style more oriented towards the musicality or the content of the lyrics?

-|-|-» Stanislav: You mean what has priority to us: music or lyrics? Well.. In the very beginning I had many lyrical drafts and sketches. I refer to such songs as “Raining December” or “Nur das Schweigen”. When we were making our debut album I simply adapted them into the musical shapes forming the songs. Not for all songs but for many of them. Until the latest album “Destiny” the situation has changed completely. Usually we create the song as a draft. And then we receive the emotions from music and then the lyrics come to our minds. Nevertheless there are still some songs that were inspired by the existing lyrical rhymes, for example the title song “Destiny”. So there is no simple answer. Everything is important when it creates harmony.

The difficult availability of your CD outside your country by the Irond Ltd is been in some way a limit for you or it has stimulated the creation of a sonorities similar to the European sound?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Actually I don’t feel any obvious connection between the distribution of our releases and our sound. We are pleased with the work of our label. It has good promotion and distribution within Russia and C.I.S. countries and this is the limit of its distribution net. But as far as I know there are still some labels which sell our releases as import. For example I have seen “Destiny” in “Different Drum” distribution catalogue recently. We are not a major band which lives only on the profits of their releases so this situation is ok for us.

In the past you have played in Moscow together with Diary of Dreams. Have you still some memories of that concert? Have you still contacts with Adrian?

-|-|-» Stanislav: I respect the status which Diary of Dreams has on the world music scene, but I’m not interested in their music just because I don’t like it. So that I don’t have any remarkable impressions of this event. Speaking of mutual concerts I still cordially remember our debut performance with Endraum in 2001. It was a milestone for us and this meeting gave us a long turn of collaborations and joint releases.

In 2003 you were defined by critics "the best band Russian of the year" and also "the best Russian band of all times". Objectively, Stan, after five years do you believe that this definition is still valid? Are emerged in the meantime other Russian artists with whom you are in "competition"?

-|-|-» Stanislav: It’s not for the artist to estimate his own art. We were among the first here and we had a good start. Maybe back then we were few in number and thus all those people who were dedicated to dark culture listened to the music more carefully too. Now the times have changed. The whole generation of new people and bands raised over there. But we still exist by our own. It’s not a competition, it’s the way of life.

The Argentine label Twilight Records in 2007 has licensed a double CD in special edition of your album "Remembrance & Memories." What response have you had from the public? Have you reach with your music another side of the planet?

-|-|-» Stanislav: I’m grateful to Gabriel and Twilight Records for giving us an opportunity to be presented on the other part of the world. I hope that this release will help us in getting the South American audience closer to our creativity. I already had some good responses from some people from there. But unfortunately nowadays even CDs became an archaic way of promotion. Even I’m in the Internet since 1997 and we had a good website, and all accounts on popular media resources including MySpace and Last.fm, I believe that downloads abolish the great conceptual work that the artist do in putting out the release. I regret about that, ‘cause the album had to be perceived as a whole. And I continue dreaming about the vinyl release of “Destiny”. It will perfectly fit the concept of what the album sounds like. Maybe one day this release will be possible, at least I hope so.

Year 2008, is the turn of your next CD "Destiny". I read interesting things about some collaborations with eminent bands as In my Rosary, Derriere le Miroir, Mary's Comic ...do you want to talk us better about this last work, Stan?

-|-|-» Stanislav: The one person, who is standing behind all above mentioned projects is Ralf Jesek – a veteran of German dark scene, a perfect musician and a great man indeed. For the first time I got in contact with him more than twelve years ago, when I was fascinated by the music of In My Rosary. Many years had passed since then but we are keeping on good relationship. I dared to ask Ralf to work on our new album “Destiny” after his wonderful remix of “Remember Me” song on our past album “Memories”. He kindly agreed and now we had a real piece of art. He made an excellent mixing and mastering of “Destiny”, even helped us with some instrument parts and backing vocals. This album means much for us. Musically it takes us back to the times when we started to get an interest in the gothic music. It sounds more old-fashioned then the previous ones. Along with keyboards and samples we used many live instruments, and I think we succeeded to reach the true sound of early nineties of the past century. Wi
th “Destiny” we are turning a new page of our history, entering a new era in which I hope there will be no more sorrows.

How many "hit" songs have you introduced into the "Destiny"'s tracklist? Which are their titles?

-|-|-» Stanislav: There are ten songs on a “normal” edition of “Destiny”:
1. “Relief”: an opening mid-tempo song played on grand piano with a strong bass line and trumpet solo;
2. “Hideaway”: a song which tells us that real hideaway is a person which comforts you;
3. “Destiny”: a title track of the album, which means that there is no escape from you own fate;
4. “Living For You”: this a more likely “hit” song is about the end of loneliness;
5. “Eternity Awaits”: this is a classic “gothic” tune which is about a loss of hope and love;
6. “Never Crossing Lines”: lifelines of two persons which will never meet;
7. “To Live Again”: this is a prophet-like song about our generation;
8. “Dein Märchen”: to start again when all is lost;
9. “Broken Time Machines”: this is about our memory, which cannot bring us back in time;
10. “Ever After”: farewell to the past;
Besides this release we are almost there with a special digibook edition of “Destiny” which will have an enhanced artwork, multimedia section and 3 bonus tracks in Russian:

The underground music is often made with few resources and so much sacrifice, even investing money. Have you compensated with sales of the CDs the investments that you did?

-|-|-» Stanislav: I prefer not to speak about the financial side of the music creation process, because it concerns only the band and its releasing label. I can only say that we have gained as much as we invested.

Personally, I love your 2002 single "Only Silence" which is still today wonderful and suitable to understand the soul and the sound of Stillife. How did you create this song? Does Mariam Khatlamajian still collaborates with you as a musician?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Thank you for the kind words about “Only Silence”. This album is very important for us, ‘cause I think that it is dedicated to the ones that we’ve lost but they still live in our memories. And concerning Mariam, she’s doing fine. She still collaborates with us, and you can hear her playing viola parts on “Destiny” album too. Actually her main job is to play in Rostov Philharmonic Orchestra, and she is really good with that. They often go on tours worldwide. So if you hear about them in your area be sure to catch them live. You won’t regret it.

In your opinion, Stan, is preferable to a run a very profitable career or a modest career but satisfactory in terms of music?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Speaking of Stillife we never thought about our music as the way of getting gross earnings, ‘cause all of us have regular jobs and we are pleased with the current situation. We are signed on a quite well-known independent label which allows us to release our music being not bound by any financial pressure and in the way which we want it to come out. So I prefer to stay free.

Do you listen more often avant-garde bands or the bands you prefer are more old dated?

-|-|-» Stanislav: I prefer “Avantgarde” as a great Italian music label but not as a music style. It’s a joke of course. I have been a music lover since early childhood and that applies to each member of Stillife. I also took a challenge of playing in different music styles from extreme death and black metal to synthpop. And I always tried to widen the horizons of my own music perception. Unfortunately I cannot physically seize all modern influences and it seems to me that insensibly I became more and more outdated, concentrating on music bands and styles which I really like. Nevertheless my quest for perfect music is not over.

Have you ever written songs politically motivated?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Never. We’re not interested in any form or tool of social control, neither in politics nor religion. I doubt that such subjects will ever appear in the lyrics of Stillife.

How you live your concerts? Are they a way to express yourself in all your potential or they are a test to understand the level of interest of your audience?

-|-|-» Stanislav: At the moment we didn’t play live for more than 4 years and slowly we have turned into a studio project. So as it was in times when we started. But the memories of our past concerts make me tremble with joy and give me the hope that some day we will be able to play on stage again. I can say that playing live is a powerful way of exchanging energy between the artist and the audience. That’s why it always gives you a feeling of purification and sweet exhaustion. And that’s kind of addiction.

Joy, sadness ...in what state of mind you created the things? Why?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Well... I think that the moment of creation comes from above. You can just simply walk in the abandoned park or just be sitting in your room when something strikes you and you begin to write down a song theme or rough lyrics drafts. It happens at nights mostly but can be in daylight in a crowded street. Of course it always has some deep emotional motive. Something of our experience that had happened earlier before or the projection of our thoughts to the future. It can be anything, but it is nothing without being sustained.

Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future of underground music?

-|-|-» Stanislav: I try not to think about it. Nowadays everything changes heavily and I cannot predict anything certain. I only hope that it will stay diverse and unbound, giving the world new promising outcomes.

What musical compromise you will never accept...?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Being not true to yourself, greed and treachery.

Many wishes to you for the new CD "Destiny" which we hope to be able to listen. Will be this CD distributed to the limited Russian Federation, or we can buy it regularly in our Europeans stores?

-|-|-» Stanislav: Our new album will be again distributed only in Russia and C.I.S. countries. It concerns both normal and limited editions. But I hope that devoted people will find the way to obtain it, ‘cause the music can not be put in range! Anyway you can always contact the band and probably we can work it out together.
