Siamo quì con l' emergente electro band svedese chiamata Mars TV. Ciao Jimmy e Mathias! Veramente non siete abituati a rilasciare molte interviste?

-|-|-» MTV: È vero, non siamo particolarmente conosciuti per cui l'interesse per la nostra musica è piuttosto scarso, finora ...

Ecco perchè noi di Dside ospitiamo anche bands poco conosciute ma meritevoli, in modo da aiutarle ad emergere. Incominciamo da una vostra citazione: "potete divertirvi senza chitarre...", cosa intendete con ciò?

-|-|-» MTV: L'espressione si presentò durante un periodo in cui la maggior parte dei miei (Jimmy) amici ascoltavano metal ... così è stato solo una sorta di dichiarazione sarcastica nei loro confronti, come uno scherzo. Questa frase si adatta molto bene anche alla nostra tipologia di musica. Ci divertiamo sempre molto quando suoniamo... tuttavia vogliamo sottolineare che non abbiamo assolutamente nulla contro le chitarre, semplicemente non riusciamo a suonarle.

Siete attivi dal 2006 ma ancora non avete pubblicato un intero cd. Che cosa vi rallenta? Non meritate di comparire soltanto su Myspace…, tutta questa attesa riguardo una vostra pubblicazione può essere interpretata come una fase di addestramento tecnico? Parlateci della vostra musica presente e passata. Discorreremo dopo riguardo il futuro.

-|-|-» MTV: In primo luogo grazie a tutti. Non abbiamo fretta di completare un cd e non c'è ragione per raggiungere ora questo obiettivo. Non pensiamo che un anno e mezzo sia un tempo troppo lungo, questo progetto è ancora abbastanza embrionale e richiede un pò di tempo ancora per creare tracce che siano abbastanza buone; poi c'è il discorso della registrazione. Siamo inoltre entrambi abbastanza occupati con altre attività per cui la creatività musicale a volte deve interrompersi . Ma stiamo pensando di registrare un singolo entro la fine di quest'anno Comunque è, come hai detto, una fase di addestramento tecnico, vogliamo che ciò che faremo suoni bene.

La vostra strategia sonica si basa mediante semplici e catturanti melodie. Chi tra di due voi propone l'input? Come si sviluppa un vostro brano?

-|-|-» MTV: Tutti i brani sono scritti e prodotti da Jimmy, per cui egli si assume la piena responsabilità per il modo in cui suoni vengono creati.

Code 64, Colony 5, Lowe, Rupesh Cartel...la Svezia ha una forte predisposizione per il pop sintetico. Come spiegate questa tendenza collegata alla vostra terra?

-|-|-» MTV: Accosentiamo. La Svezia ha molte grandi bands nel genere Ssynthpop. Ma perché ciò sia tale non lo sappiamo...! Buona eredità, forse?

Vi sentite più vicini ai Depeche Mode, o ai Rupesh Cartel?

-|-|-» MTV: I DM sono sempre stati fonte di ispirazione e sono sicuramente una delle nostre band preferite di tutti i tempi, ma per il momento riteniamo che i Rupesh Cartel siano più vicini allo stile che stiamo cercando di produrre. Ammiriamo davvero tanto il loro lavoro!

Suonate molto dal vivo? Dove preferibilmente?

-|-|-» MTV: Abbiamo suonato finora 11 concerti e principalmente in electro clubs minori, ma anche come supporto a Firefox AK, SMK per esempio. Non importa dove, ma Gothenburg, Svezia ha un grande pubblico.

Che tipo di testi meglio si adattano più adatto alla vostra musica?

-|-|-» MTV: Attualmente stiamo pensando seriamente alle parole. E' un discorso piuttosto importante e stiamo cercando di mettere insieme alcune idee. I testi sono spesso un po 'tristi e malinconici, anche se la musica di supporto non lo è.

Quanto tempo necessita per nascere ad un brano dei Mars Tv?

-|-|-» MTV: Varia di volta in volta. A volte ci impiega solo un'ora per completarsi e, talvolta, un paio di mesi. I brani che si "scrivono da soli" restano spesso i migliori.

Come giudicate il download illegale della musica E' solo una questione di prezzo elevato dei cd o esistono altre spiegazioni?

-|-|-» MTV: Hm, buona domanda. Sicuramente l'elevato costo dei cd sono una spiegazione, un altro è che è molto facile riuscire scaricare musica illegalmente su Internet al giorno d'oggi. Al nostro livello non è davvero un problema, siamo solo felici se qualcuno vuole ascoltarci. Ma siamo in grado di capire che gli artisti e le band che stanno facendo questo per vivere diventano pazze quando le persone scaricano la loro musica illegalmente invece di comprarla. Siamo ancora legati piuttosto alla vecchia moda, vogliamo ancora acquistare cd's. Supporta i tuoi artisti preferiti!

So che suonerete dal vivo il 25 giugno con i Zeigeist al Peace & Love festival di Borlange ...

-|-|-» MTV: Sì, siamo veramente lieti di fare un concerto lassù .. e speriamo che ci sarà una grande folla danzante ...

Usate più tastiere virtuali o hardware?

-|-|-» MTV: Molti synths virtuali, ma naturalmente abbiamo anche alcuni "mostri" analogici...!

E adesso parliamo dei vostri piani futuri...

-|-|-» MTV: Contiamo di a fare un paio di concerti durante l'estate e l'autunno e continuare a sviluppare la musica e nel corso di quest'anno. Stiamo progettando di registrare qualcosa di serio. Forse un singolo ... aspetteremo di vedere cosa succede . Abbiamo un sacco di nuove canzoni ma abbiamo solo bisogno di tempo per registrarle.

Intendete registrare le tracce autonomamente oppure in uno studio professionale?

-|-|-» MTV: Non abbiamo accesso a studii professionali ed il loro affitto non è di solito a buon mercato, per cui Immagino che dovremo registrare i brani da noi. Avremo anche bisogno di un aiuto promozionale e altre cose di questo genere ma più tardi.

Siete alla ricerca di una label? Se non la troverete, come pensate di distribuire il cd?

-|-|-» MTV: Non proprio in realtà, ma naturalmente, se un'etichetta ci offrirà una buona proposta si potrà fare. Ovviamente, quindi invitiamo gli interessati a farsi avanti! Per il momento siamo preparati a comporre autonomamente la maggior parte del lavoro. Ma come abbiamo già detto in precedenza, necessitiamo di aiuto per la commercializzazione e la promozione, ecc. Abbiamo fortunatamente alcuni amici che sono più competenti di noi in questo campo.

Avete una preferenza specifica per le dance songs o preferite creare musica solo da ascoltare?

-|-|-» MTV: Beh, noi abbiamo un debole per le canzoni pop e la nostra musica tende a rivelarsi in questo modo, comunque lo si voglia o meno. Riteniamo che il nostro sound assomigli piuttosto ad una danza amichevole .. Se ami le magnifiche ballate non siamo certamente la band da scegliere...

E 'stato un vero piacere avervi con noi. Cosa volete dire ai lettori di Dside ?

-|-|-» MTV: Grazie per l'interesse e speriamo di soddisfarvi nel prossimo futuro!

-|-|-» MTV: Il nome "Marts TV" è preso da un bellissimo brano di un altro grande gruppo pop svedese chiamato S.P.O.C.K. e, naturalmente, ci piace il suo suono... Grazie mille ed un augurio di ogni bene a tutti!

We are with the emerging Swedish electro band called Mars TV. Hi Jimmy and Mathias! Truly you aren't many accustomed to the interviews?

-|-|-» MTV: True, we're not particular known so the interest for our music are pretty weak, so far..

That's the matter becouse we of Dside host bands also not known but deserving, to helping them to emerge! Starting with your own quote: "you can have fun without guitars..", what you intend?

-|-|-» MTV: The expression came up during a time when most of my (Jimmy) friends listened to heavy metal music.. so it was just some kind of sarcastic statement towards them as a joke. But it kind of stuck with us and we think it suits the music pretty well. We have a lot of fun when we're playing and our songs hopefully put you in a good mood. But we just want to point out that we absolutely don't have anything against guitars, we just can't handle them.

You are active since 2006 but you have not yet published a cd. What do you slow down? You don't deserve to appear only on Myspace ...All this wait of your publication is perhaps from interpreting like a phase of technical training? Speak us well about music your present and past. We'll talk after about the future!

-|-|-» MTV: First of all thanks. We're not rushing to get a cd out, there's no point in hasten just to have it done. And we don't think one and a half year is a long time, this project is still pretty young and it takes a while to create songs that are good enough and even longer to record them. We're also both pretty busy with other things so the music creativity sometimes has to stand back. But we're thinking of maybe try to record a single later this year, even we think it's about time now. But it's also been as you said a phase of technical training, we want it to sound good the day we release something.

Your sonic strategy is based by simple and amazing melodies. Who between you has the initial input? How to spread your song?

-|-|-» MTV: All songs is written and produced by Jimmy, so he assume full responsibility for how it sounds.

Code 64, Colony 5, Lowe, Rupesh Cartel ... Sweden has a strong predisposition for the synthetic pop. How do you explain this trend linked to your land?

-|-|-» MTV: We agree.. Sweden has a lot of great bands in the synthetic pop genre. But why it's like that we don't really know, good legacy perhaps?

Do you feel more close to Depeche Mode, or Rupesh Cartel?

-|-|-» MTV: DM has always been an inspiration source and they are definitely one of our favourite bands of all times, but at the moment we think that Rupesh Cartels music are closer to the style we're trying to produce. We really admire their work!

Do you play many live? Where preferably?

-|-|-» MTV: We have played 11 gigs so far and it's mostly at minor electro clubs, but also as support to Firefox AK, SMK for example. It doesn't matter where, but Gothenburg, Sweden has a great audience.

What kind of texts is better suited for your music?

-|-|-» MTV: We actually think the lyrics are pretty important and I'm trying to put some thought behind them. The lyrics are often a bit sad and melancholic even if the music is not.

How long it take a Mars TV's track to born?

-|-|-» MTV: It vary from time to time. Sometimes it takes just an hour to finish a song and sometimes a couple of months. The songs that basically “write themselves” often turns out to be the best.

How you judge the illegal music download? Is this only an issue of high price of the cd or exists other explanations?

-|-|-» MTV: Hm, good question. Surely the high cd prices are one explanation, another is that it's very easy to find and download music illegally on the internet nowadays. At our level it's not really a problem, we're just happy if someone wants to listen to us. But we can understand that artists and bands who's doing this for a living gets mad when people rather download their music illegally instead of buying it. We're pretty old fashion, we still buy cd's. Support your favourite artists!

I know that you'll play live on June 25, with Zeigeist at the Peace & Love festival Borlange ...

-|-|-» MTV: Yes, we're really looking forward to gig up there.. and hopefully there'll be a big dancing crowd too..

Returning to your music, I would say that "Reminisce" would be excellent as single, what do you think?

-|-|-» MTV: We agree, “Reminisce” is one of our strongest songs so far. Even “It's never serious with me” is a potential single we think.

Do you use more virtual keyboards or hardware?

-|-|-» MTV: Mostly virtual synths but of course we have some analogue monsters as well..

And now you can speak us about your future plans!

-|-|-» MTV: Hopefully we'll get to do a few more gigs during the summer and autumn, continue to develop the music and later this year we're planning to record something more serious. Maybe a single.. we'll just have to see what happens.. We have a lot of new songs so all we need is time to record them.

Will you record the tracks by yourselves or will you record in a professional studio?

-|-|-» MTV: We don't have access to a professional studio and they're not usually cheap to rent so I guess we'll have to record the songs ourselves at home. But we'll probably need some help with promotion and things like that later on.

Are you searching a label? If you'll not find this, how do you think to distribute the cd?

-|-|-» MTV: Not really actually, but of course, if a label presented a good proposal then obviously we'd be interested. But for the moment we're prepared to do most of the work by ourselves. But as we mentioned earlier, with some help with marketing, promotion etc. We have fortunately some friends who's more competent in that field than we are.

Do you have a specific preference for dance songs or you prefer creating music only to listen?

-|-|-» MTV: Well, we have a thing for catchy pop songs and our music tend to turn out that way whether we want it or not. And we think our music is pretty dance friendly.. If you're into magnificent ballads we're certainly not the band to choose.
