-|-|-» Bleeding Nature : Ciao, il mio nome è Lev, sono nato nel 1982 a Mosca, la capitale della Russia. Sono musicista da 10 anni ed il progetto Bleednig Nature è stato creato nel 2002. In questo momento la band ha già in attivo 1 e.p. e 2 long plays, così come 2 video di 2 tracce dall'ultimo album "Water of days". Bèè tutto, non c'è null'altro di particolarmente speciale da menzionare...

Quali elementi nel mondo intorno a voi sono talmente affascinanti da ispirare la vostra musica?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Beeding Nature è un progetto molto personale per me dove ogni piccola cosa conta. Ciò che è davvero importante riguarda ad esempio la vista dalla mia finestra, i ricordi d'infanzia, riflessioni sul mondo circostante in generale. E però difficile parlarne.

Il violino Peter's Bordachev è suonato magistralmente e con percettibile malinconia. Considerate indispensabile questo strumento per il vostro sound?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Il violino, naturalmente, aggiunge spesso una certa sensazione di malinconia in contrasto al freddo suono del synth, rendendo così le piste più calde. Noi lo utilizziamo dove riteniamo che sia opportuno.

Sappiamo che avete partecipato a concerti degli Apoptygma Berzerk e Melotron. Parlateci dei dettagli più interessanti che ricordate ...

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Abbiamo avuto in comune concerti con i Melotron addirittura due volte, e conserviamo solo i migliori ricordi di loro. Sono uomini della grande ex-DDR, ricordano perfino ancora un pò di russo! Abbiamo anche bevuto vodka russa insieme... Non si può dire la stessa cosa sugli Apoptygma.

Cosa significa essere una synth goth-band in Russia oggi? E'complicato sopravvivere musicalmente lì con il vostro stile?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Beh, io non sono sicuro che il nostro ultimo album possa essere classificato proprio come 'synth-gothic'.. In ogni caso, in Russia, è un po'difficile la vita per una band che canta in una lingua straniera e non tratta mainstream. E questo è esattamente il motivo per cui non ho lavorato sui Bleeding Nature per mezzo anno.

Come vanno le vendite dei vostri cds in Europa? Credete forse che il vostro successo sia limitato ai confini russi?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Ho paura che non ci siano vendite di cui parlare. Semplicemente non ci sono i nostri cd in Europa, dal momento che la nostra label non ha un distributore li. Ma naturalmente, mi piacerebbe vedere i miei album pubblicati da qualche altra parte, non solo in Russia. Sarebbe bello tenere concerti in Europa ma purtroppo, nessuno ci offre di prendere parte ad un concerto da quelle parti, per ora..

Personalmente mi fa piacere notare un grande fermento nella scena electro-goth dei paesi dell'Europa orientale e della Russia. Conosciamo alcune band veramente valide ma ancora con qualche difficoltà nel farsi notare dal pubblico al di là dei confini. Perché?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Suppongo, da un lato, che il motivo sia che l'Europa dispone di un proprio ampio materiale musicale su cui contare e, dall'altro verso la Russia è in grave ritardo culturale rispetto al resto del mondo quindi, in generale, la musica creata qui nel migliore dei casi è un tentativo di copiare ciò che è già stato realizzato in Occidente.

Ci sono problemi con la distribuzione dei vostri cd in Europa?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: L'unico problema è che nessuno sa nulla noi in Europa. E' il motivo per cui lì non vi è alcuna possibilità di distribuzione.

"Bleeding Nature" è stato il tuo primo full cd. Poi si continua il percorso con altri due album, "My Winter" ed il più recente "Water of Days". Cosa congiunge e cosa separa questi tre capitoli della vostra discografia?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Beh il primo demo è stato solo un test non posso dire nulla di buono riguardo a questo!... Oggettivamente è possibile cominciare a contare dall'album "My Winter" che è stato il primo lavoro maturo. E ci sono un sacco di differenze tra quest'ultimo e "Water of Days", nonostante il fatto che, in entrambi i casi, si riconoscano i Bleeding Nature fin dalle prime note. Se immaginassimo ciò come il percorso della vita di una persona diremmo che "My Winter" rappresenta la sua infanzia e che "Water of Days" la sua età adulta. Non voglio dire di più dal momento che credo che la musica non sia fatta per la discussione ma per l'ascolto.

"Boring Days", canzone del 2007, riflette incredibilmente il concetto di malinconia ...

Leo Vasilets, tu canti, suoni la programmazione e la tastiera, Peter Bordachev suona il violino. Chi è Tomin Alexander?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Tomin ci ha aiutato con la registrazione vocale nell'album "My Winter", di seguito ha partecipato ai backing vocals in alcune tracce di "Water of Days".

Preferireste organizzare un concerto dei Bleeding Nature in Europa o sarebbe meglio negli USA?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Credo che gli europei ritengano che la nostra musica sia loro più vicina. Inoltre io stesso ascolto maggiormente musica europea. Anche se, comunque, saremo lieti di tenere un concerto in qualsiasi luogo al di fuori della Russia!

Che tipo di musica ascoltate quando siete soli? A quale artista siete particolarmente affezionati?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: In realtà sono cresciuto ascoltando new wave: New Order, Joy Division, Cure. Amo queste band anche ora. Ma ascolto diversi altri tipi di musica, dall'IDM, come Beefcare, al synth-pop e darkwave come Wolfsheim e Deine Lakaien. Cerco di trovare qualcosa di interessante in ogni genere.

Esistono alcuni vincoli da parte delle compagnie discografiche che sottopongono una band underground come la vostra? Si è liberi di comporre come si vuole o si deve scendere a compromessi imposti dal marchio?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Non ci sono vincoli! Per ciò che riguarda il nostro ultimo album ad esempio, è stato pubblicato così come l'abbiamo realizzato.

Frequentate club? Descriveteci una notte russa di Bleeding Nature...!

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Sì, a volte interveniamo a concerti goth locali, anche se molto raramente. Di solito 300-400 persone partecipano ai concerti. Abbiamo anche la nostra piccola fan base qui in Russia

Sappiamo che in passato avete intrapreso collaborazioni con The Frozen Autumn. Cosa potete dirci in merito?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Bè, non vi sono state vere e proprie collaborazioni con Frozen Autumn a parte quando sono venuti a Mosca per suonare ad un concerto e noi abbiamo partecipato come band di supporto. Di questa band e per un lungo periodo, i loro primi due album sono stati per me una vera fonte di ispirazione.. La musica che suonano ora non è realmente vicina al mio stile, ma ritengo "Pale Awakening" Fragments of Memories" siano dei veri Capolavori.

Cos'altro sulla scena elettro-goth italiana ?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Tranne i Frozen Autumn conosco molti altri gruppi goth-rock ma non ricordo alcun nome.

Leggete qualche fanzine interessante?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Lo faccio ma non ho più semplicemente tempo per questo.

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature : Hi, My name is Lev, I was born in 1982 in Moscow, the capital of Russia. I've been into music since 10 years old, and Bleeding Nature itself was created in 2002. At this moment, the band already has 1 ep and 2 long plays, as well as 2 videos for two tracks from the last album – Water of days. Well, that's about it – there's nothing else special, that I can boast of

What elements in the world around you are so fascinated to inspire your music?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Bleeding Nature is a very personal project for me. Here every little thing matters. What's important – well, the view from my window, childhood memories, reflections on the surrounding world in general.. It's hard to talk about it.

The Peter Bordachev's violin is played masterfully and with perceptible melancholy. Do you consider indispensable this instrument for your sound?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, the violin, of course, frequently adds a certain feeling of melancholy, in contrast to cold synth sound, making tracks warmer. We use it, where we think that it's appropriate.

We know that you have participated to concerts by Apoptygma Berzerk and Melotron. Tell us the most interesting details you remember...

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: We had joint concerts with Melotron even twice, and we have only the best memories of them. They are great guys from ex-DDR, so they still remember Russian a bit. We drank Russian vodka together. Can't say the same about Apoptygma though.

What does it mean to be a synth-goth band in Russia today? Is it complicated to survive musically with your style?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, I'm not sure that our last album may be classified as ‘synth-gothic'. Anyway, in Russia its somewhat hard for a band, that sings in a foreign language and plays non-mainstream kind of music. And that is exactly why I temporary have not been working on Bleeding Nature for half a year already.

How are the sales of your cds in Europe? Do you believe that maybe your success is limited into the Russian's borders?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: I'm afraid there are no sales to speak of. Simply put, there are no our cds in Europe, since our label company doesn't have a distributor in Europe. But of course, I'd love to see my albums published somewhere else, not just Russia. It would be great to have concerts in Europe, but alas, no one offers me to take part in a concert in Europe for now..

Personally, I'm glad to note a great ferment in the electro-goth scene of the Eastern European countries and Russia. We know some bands really valid but still with some difficulty in getting noticed by the public beyond the country's borders. Why?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, I suppose, on one hand, that is because Europe has ample music material of its own and on the other hand, Russia is seriously retarded culturally, compared to the rest of the world, and thus generally speaking, the music made here is at best attempts to copy what has already been done in the West.

There are problems with the distribution of your cds in Europe?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, the only problem is that nobody knows us in Europe, that is why there is no chance for any cd distribution in Europe

"Bleeding Nature" was your first full cd. Then you continued the route with two other albums "My Winter" and the most recent "Water of Days". What unites and what separates these three chapters of your discography?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, first demo was just a test step, I can't say anything good about it right now. Objectively, you can start counting from My winter album. That was the first mature work. And there's lots of difference between My winter and Water of days, despite the fact, that in both cases you recognize Bleeding Nature from the first notes. If we imagine it as a path of a certain persona, then My Winter is his childhood, and Water of days is his adulthood. I won't say more, since I believe, that music it not for discussing, but for listening.

"Boring Days", 2007's track, reflects incredibly the concept of melancholy...

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Thanks. We also tried to convey this feeling in our video. You can download it easily from our site or watch it on Youtube on-line.

Leo Vasilets, you sing the lyrics and play programming and keyboard ,Peter Bordachev plays violin. Who is Alexander Tomin?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Tomin helped us with the vocal recording for the first My winter album, and also performed some of the back vocal parts for some tracks from the Water of days.

Do you prefer to organize a great concert of Bleeding Nature in Europe or is better do it in the USA?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, I believe, that Europeans would consider our music to be closer. Besides, I myself mostly listen to European music. Although we'd be happy to have a concert anywhere outside of Russia!

What kind of music you hear when you are alone? To which artist are you particularly affectionated?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Actually, I grew up listening to new wave, New Order, Joy Division, Cure. I really love these bands even now. But I listen to very different kinds of music, from idm, like Beefcare, to synth-pop and darkwave like Wolfsheim and Deine Lakaien. I try to find something interesting for me in each genre.

Are there some constrains from record companies that which submit an underground band like your? Are you free to compose as you want or you have to make compromises imposed by the label?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: There are no constraints! What concerns our last album, we just brought it to our record company and, it was published that way

Do you attend clubs? Describe us one Bleeding Nature Russian night...

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Yeah, I sometimes visit local gothic parties. And that's where I perform, although very rarely. Usually 300-400 people visit the concert, and that's who we perform for! We have our small fan base here in Russia.

We know that you have had collaborations with The Frozen Autumn. What you can tell us about?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Well, there were no collaborations with Frozen Autumn to speak of, they just came to Moscow to play on one of the parties, and we participated also, as a support band. I know this band for a long time, their first two albums were a real inspiration for me in due time. The music they are playing right now isn't really close to me, but I consider Pale Awakening and Fragments of memories to be real masterpieces.

Do you know other things about the Italian electro-goth scene?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: Except Frozen Autumn I know several other gothic rock bands, but I won't recall any names

Do you read some interesting music fanzine?

-|-|-» Bleeding Nature: I used to, but right now I simply don't have time for this..

What do you ask to your fans? Here and now you can tell them all you want...
