una volta gli Hocico si sono rivelati band fondamentale della
scena electro più esplosiva: il duo è in grado
di trasmettere dal vivo la stessa carica di aggressività
e violenza (e persino oltre) che permea ogni loro lavoro dagli
esordi ai giorni nostri.
Ark (il frontman della band) ha infatti l' innata quanto rara
capacità di imporre la sua personalità sul palco
regalando al pubblico una dimensione della band ancora più
nitroglicerinica di quanto ci si possa aspettare da un gruppo
già "cattivo" di suo !
Il Transilvania appare gremito come nelle migliori occasioni
(era ora !!!) e ben altra cornice quindi si presenta per questo
live rispetto alla prima sfortunata esibizione degli Hocico
in Italia all' epoca di "Sangre Hirviente".
A quei tempi a far da spettatori eravamo infatti sì
e no in quaranta persone e nonostante l' impegno profuso dalla
band il risultato del concerto fu modesto e sottotono: all'
aggressività di Ark si contrapponevano infatti la generale
freddezza e la distrazione pressapochista del pubblico in
sala...
Oggi le cose sono andate un pochino meglio: certo, siamo lontanissimi
da certi epici poghi vissuti in terra teutonica ma almeno
un po' più di reattività è stata misurabile....
Indubbiamente la band si propone con sincerità e crudezza
e senza mezzi termini (vedi in proposito certi spezzoni di
filmati proposti o passaggi nei loro testi tipo"introduce
mi pene in tu garganta" tanto per intenderci) ma chi
ama gli Hocico sa che vanno presi così, in tutto il
loro livore accecante, in un orgasmo di violenza assemblato
tra l' adrenalinica voce filtrata di Ark e i battiti dirompenti
con synth che paiono travalicare l' EBM arrivando persono
a sfiorare certe punte di death metal sintetico...
Nell' insieme i pezzi che mi hanno maggiormente colpito per
il loro fragore intriso di rabbia ed energia sono stati "Untold
blasphemies", "Bloodshed", "Ladykiller"
e "Odio Bajo Testosterona" ma è difficile
non citare altri brani poichè tutti in un continuum
ideale hanno contributo a creare l' atmosfera satura di zolfo
che si respirava al Transilvania a fine concerto...
"Odio en alma" è stato infatti il degno suggello
di quello che definisco senza dubbio la performance più
esaltante che si sia vista a Milano quest anno !
Concludendo vorrei spendere qualche parola anche per il gruppo
di supporto: gli italiani First Black
Pope hanno infatti regalato una breve ma interessante
esibizione caratterizzata da intarsi sonori estremamente interessanti
all' insegna dell' innovazione in terra italica: attraverso
un immagine finalmente trasgressiva e d' impatto sono infatti
stati in grado di creare i presupposti ideali per il live
che doveva seguire iniziando a dare alla serata sin dagli
albori un impronta che flirtava tra electro e industrial senza
banalità o inutili smancerie....

Once again Hocico has confirmed to be the
fundamental band for the most explosive electro: the two are
able to perform during their shows the same (if not more)
aggressiveness and violence which has been characterizing
all their operas since their early days. Ark, as band front
man, has a natural and rare ability to impose his personality
on stage, giving to the audience a real nitro-glycerine band
version that is beyond all the expectations.
The Transilvania is finally crowded as the greatest occasions
require and it appears a worthy frame for the live show as
we haven't been able to see it in previous Hocico acts at
the time of Sangre Hirviente, when the audience was composed
more or less by 40 people and in spite of the band efforts
the shows came up as sub toned experience where neither the
Ark endless energy could shake the general audience's coldness
and indifference….
Today things are different and although we are miles away
from some epic gig I've experienced in Germany, I must admit
the audience has been quite reactive.
Undoubtedly Hocico is a band without middle
tones: they are raw and sincere like the movies projected
during their show and certain statements from their lyrics
as "introduce mi pene in tu gargantia" but their
fan know they are great in the way they are in all their immeasurable
range, they are like a violence orgasm that combines the Ark
adrenalin voice and the disruptive beats made with Synths
which get over the EBM and reach something I can define like
a synthetic death metal…..
Speaking generally about the show, the songs which has stroke
me the most for their range and energy have been "Untold
Blasphemies" , "Bloodshed" "Ladykiller"
and "Odio Bajo Testosterona" but it's so difficult
to me sorting out songs from this show because they are all
contribute to create the hell atmosphere you could breath
at the end of the concert at Transilvania…."Odio
en alma" has been the final song and a worthy seal for
the most busting performance I've seen this year in Milan!
I would like to spend some words also on
the support band, the italian First
Black Pope who has executed a short but very interesting
exhibition customized by remarkable and innovative sounds
for the Italian reality. A very unconventional and impressive
show which has given the ideal introduction to the following
performance, preparing the stage with a music swinging between
electro and industrial without pointless affectation.
